Ignis, 8-string Chime * Koshi 4-Elements

The Koshi 4-Elements collection is inspired by the elemental forces of life. Tuned to 432 Hz, its pentatonic scale gives it a pure and open character, with a soothing sound that may evoke introspection.
Ignis is the liveliest and most luminous melody in the 4 Elements collection. Its pentatonic chord evokes the Fire element: a clear, light and radiant presence that inspires movement without ever breaking Koshi’s distinctive softness. Ignis brings a warm and dynamic sound character, ideal for opening a space for listening, accompanying a musical creation or introducing a sense of momentum into a sound practice.

 Each Koshi chime is made at the foot of the French Pyrenees. The craftsperson solders eight steel rods with silver onto a metal base, then tunes them one by one, with meticulous attention to their pitch, accuracy and the balance of the whole. The bamboo resonance chamber amplifies the vibrations and gives the Koshi chime its long and warm resonance. Move the chime gently holding it by its cord: the crystalline sound may leave you in quiet wonder or let the wind play and carry you away in an unexpected melody.
