Blackwing Pearl * Blackwing pencils
The Blackwing Pearl is the latest addition to the Blackwing family. It features a pearl white finish, black imprint and eraser and a balanced and smooth graphite core softer than the graphite in the blackwing 602 but firmer that the Palomino Blackwing.
The Blackwing roots go back to the 1930’s when it was introduced by Eberhard Faber. In 1998 is was discontinued and fans began paying about €35 for a single Blackwing. Apparently the Palomino premium range of pencils provided a comparable performance to the Blackwing pencils. Palomino re-introduced the “Blackwing” in its original and in a modified form in a Californian Cedar wood casing with exquisite Japanese graphite.
