Blackwing Matte * Blackwing pencils
The Palomino Blackwing was launched in 2010 as a modern version of the iconic Eberhard Faber Blackwing 602 pencil. It is ideal for musicians, woodworkers and anyone who prefer a soft, dark line. It is the softest of the three core blackwing models.
It features a removable and replaceable eraser with an iconic ferrule design. It has a matt black finish with a gold imprint. The cedar casing sharpens evenly and easy. And the special formulated Japanese graphite writes smoothly.
The Blackwing roots go back to the 1930’s when it was introduced by Eberhard Faber. In 1998 is was discontinued and fans began paying about €35 for a single Blackwing.
Apparently the Palomino premium range of pencils provided a comparable performance to the Blackwing pencils. Palomino re-introduced the “Blackwing” in its original and in a modified form in a Californian Cedar wood casing with exquisite Japanese graphite.
