This Kuro-roiro Writer Portable fountain pen is made of ebonite and lacquered with a Wajima Urushi. As ebonite is a very lightweight material. Thanks to the designer's success in finding the perfect point of equilibrium, this pen provides a comfortable writing experience for everyone. Writer models always come with a clip.

Important note: Urushi doesn't like direct sunlight, so keep your pens with their precious Urushi lacquer in a protected environment. A pen pouch, pen case or closed drawer is sufficient.

Nakaya is one of Japan's oldest and most important producers of writing instruments. The history of Nakaya is closely tied up with the Platinum company. For one thing, the two companies share the same founder, Syunichi Nakata, who started out in business in 1919. In time, the brand name "Nakaya" disappeared and made way for "Platinum". Today, however, Toshiya Nakata, the grandson of Syunichi Nakata, is once again at the helm of these two renowned brands.
