Yukari Royal Lioness * Namiki
The phrase "Spare the rod and spoil the child" comes from a legend and reveals this pen's theme. A Lioness who voluntarily leaves her offspring in trouble to make them stronger in the future. The scene in generous gold on a black urushi background reveals two cubs - one male, one female - that are hopelessly climbing up the rocky terrain to reach their mother. The Lioness watches over her offspring on top of the rock. The barrel and cap dividing the cubs and the Lioness from each other, emphasize their struggle even more. The Lioness and cubs are decorated in high relief by Togidashi-Taka-Maki-e technique with very refined details and Raden spots.
The Namiki Yukari Royal Lioness, presented in 2019 is designed by Kokokai artisan Shotaku in Togidashi Taka-maki-e to join the rest of the Namiki collection. The pen comes with an 18kt duotone nib in F, M, or B and fills with cartridges or CON 70 convertor. It is packed in a large wooden box with inkbottle, convertor, polishing cloth, certificate, and CD.
