Minoshi Garden * artistic interior object* Atelier Oï
Minoshi Garden – an artistic interior object – explores the art of Japanese origami, which originated in a ceremonial context. The folded paper elements, recalling a flower or a star, are based on the geometric figure of the square, a shape replete with universal symbolic associations. In a play of light and shadow inspired by natural movement, Minoshi Garden becomes part of a living moment.
Minoshi Garden is available in the form of a magnificent blooming bouquet of 31 flowers, one extra-large, two large, twelve medium, and sixteen small. Hang one or three or five in different heights, and you will experience a moment of magnificent zen, over and over again. Each installation measures from 65 to 90 cm and has a diameter of 120cm.
From artistic object to spatial construction and from scenographic installation to poetic object, atelier oï presents Minoshi Garden a suspended mobile for the home. This artistic interior object is a reinterpretation of Honminoshi Garden – an experimental installation designed for a series of projects realized with Japanese manufactories.
Initially presented in 2015 in Zurich at Neue räume, "Honminoshi Garden" hit the road on a 2016 world tour and has been exhibited at prestigious international fairs and design biennials like Milan Design Week, Tokyo Design Week, La Biennale di Venezia, Art Basel in Miami Beach and more.
While Honminoshi Garden is constructed from the most traditional and distinguished Japanese paper, handmade by masters, Minoshi Garden preserves the poetic spirit and essence of the art installation using a unique Washi called Pansion developed by Molza Corporation.
