Syaraku Natane Taccia Ukiyo-e ink * Taccia

Taccia
Description

Taccia Ukiyo-e inks are an hommage to the Ukiyo-e art and famous Ukiyo-e artists such as Hiroshige, Hokusai, Sharaku, Utumaru, and others. The packaging of each color carries a picture of the artwork it is referring to.

Ukiyo-e colors are delicate and difficult to express in a single word. Creating these colors was taken seriously because Ukiyo-e belongs to Japan's cultural inheritance. Taccia Ukiyo-e inks are produced in Japan and composed by Hiroshi Ishizu, an ink sommelier. Hanae Matsumoto, a color consultant, supervised all colors.

Ukiyo-e is an artistic movement established in the Edo period (17th-18th). Japanese woodblock prints, featuring daily lifestyle, trend, and play by the people of the time, are very famous. It is characterized by clear designs, bold compositions, and a lack of shade. In addition to landscape portraits, ukiyo-e also featured geishas, sumo wrestlers, and kabuki actors.
