The Nakaya Long Cigar fountain pen is made of ebonite and is lacquered with a Wajima Urushi. As ebonite is a very lightweight material, it is possible to make the barrel longer without adding too much weight. Thanks to the designer's success in finding the perfect point of equilibrium, this pen provides a comfortable writing experience for everyone. 

The Red Ascending Dragon is made in a Tamesukashi technique in which the dragon is applied in silver or gold on a red intermediate layer and covered with shuai (amber-colored) urushi layers. The amber color will lighten with time, making the dragon even more visible. Dragons are always beautiful!

Important note: Urushi doesn't like direct sunlight, so keep your pens with their precious Urushi lacquer in a protected environment. A pen pouch, pen case or closed drawer is sufficient.
