Kiseru Japanese Pipe

The Manu Propria Kiseru fountain pen is actually inspired by the Kiseru-zutsu (a small pouch or box) of the Doran, a two- lid housing for a Japanese pipe called “the Kiseru”. The Doran exists out of 2 parts : the Kiseru-zutsu (housing for the pipe) and the Tabaco-ire, a small pouch for the tabaco called Kizami.

The Japanese “Kiseru” pipe was very common at the beginning of the Edo periode (1603-1868) and was often used with thee ceremonies and important military meetings.
