Hiroshi Ito was born in Kyoto in 1930 and studied polychrome lacquer art at the Kyoto School of Arts and Crafts. He honed his skills under Master Karutaro Yamazaki (1899-1984). In 1953, he was awarded first prize at the Japanese Fine Art Exhibition in Tokyo and subsequently a whole series of prestigious prizes. He has exhibited some exceptional pieces of artwork in museums. In 2005, he received the prestigious "First Prize" from the Japanese Academy of Fine Arts for 60 years of achievements. At the age of 83 years, Master Hiroshi Ito finally retired. Collectors who own fountain pens crafted by Hiroshi Ito have an invaluable heirloom.
